Project Overview
Celtic Energy and the Organisation’s Property Arm made the decision to invest in a new development on the outskirts of Cardiff City Centre, purchasing Carlyle House, that would be used as its Headquarters, whilst the rest of the building would be let to tenants.
Richard Walters, the Organisation’s CEO, didn’t want to create a standard, everyday office environment, but a “funky” and modern environment that would inspire his staff and visitors alike.
A Successful Completion
The existing space was typical of a 1980’s style office space, with old suspended ceilings, ash doors, outdated toilets, and bland carpets.
We worked with Richard and his team, creating various design ideas of how we could accommodate their office space, his office, and importantly a Social/Boardroom Area where meetings could take place, and clients and friends entertained. Our design ideas were illustrated to the client within our Showroom.
The overall Project took 16 weeks to complete and encompassed the following works:
Exposing the ceiling
The ripping out of all of the existing electrical and mechanical services and replacing with all new services and ducting.
The new electrical and mechanical conduit and trunking work consisted of galvanised steel, that provides a very modern and industrial feel to the space
Whilst the ceilings were exposed and painted black, above a height of 2400, black mesh ceilings were also fitted to elements of the ceiling in the Social Area and Richard’s office. When amalgamated with the shaped acoustic ceiling rafts that were also installed, we have achieved a solution different to a standard, everyday suspended ceiling.
New Karndean vinyl and carpeted floors
Complete toilet fit out incorporating wall tiles and IPS paneling
New glazed and solid partitioning with imagery depicting both famous Sports Stars, and Rhossili Bay in West Wales.
A Bar Area in the Social/Boardroom Area
Furniture reflecting the nature of the Fit Out
